Postdoctoral Researcher in Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry

We are offering an interesting PostDoc position within the team of dr. Paruch at the International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne´s University Hospital Brno (FNUSA-ICRC). Selected candidate will join the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry supervised by Dr. Kamil Paruch and Dr. Jakub Svenda.

Work Assignment:  1 FTE                 Start Date:  March/April 2017

Assignment Description:

The research is part of a interdisciplinary platform of International Clinical Research Centre (FNUSA-ICRC). The researcher will have an opportunity to creatively participate in design and optimization of flexible synthetic routes to structurally non-trivial small organic molecules for applications in biomedical research. The postdoctoral researcher will gain further experience through mentoring of junior students working in the laboratory. Current research areas of interest include selective small-molecule modulation of human kinases, adenylyl cyclases, and nucleases.


The International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA-ICRC), Czech Republic is a new-generation research center focusing on the pathogenesis of diseases including finding new methods, technologies and medicaments for effective prevention, early diagnostics and individualized treatment.

Candidate’s Requirements:

  • PhD degree in chemistry
  • Solid knowledge/experience in organic synthesis
  • Ability to independently design and execute multistep synthetic sequences
  • Ability to perform data/result analysis and interpretation
  • Fundamental skills in scientific writing
