We seek a highly motivated individual to join an EU-funded research project within Cardio 3 group of ICRC. The Cardio 3 group closely collaborates with other research platforms - mainly Biological dept. of Masaryk University Brno (CZ) and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (USA). Cardio 3 group deals with, inter alia, the development of new type of catheters and application of stem cell biology to the cardiac disease therapy.

You will:

  • coordinate experiments, mainly in animal models (porcine) in the Animal Centre at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno (external dpt. of FNUSA-ICRC) - schedule, prepare and carry out animal experiments, gather and analyze data.
  • actively search for new potential international partnerships and closely cooperate with existing collaborating institutions.
  • apply for national and international grant applications.
  • publish results in peer-reviewed international journals, present outcomes at international congresses.
  • collaborate with other researchers in the team.


Research topics:

  • Development of new type of catheters for epicardial pacing, ablation and defibrillation.
  • Development of novel devices and methodology for more efficient and safer catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias.
  • New therapeutic methods of treatment of cardiac diseases with stem cells.


Our requirements:

  • MD or DVM with at least 3 years of research experience after receiving Ph.D.
  • At least basic theoretical and practical knowledge of cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology.
  • Experience with cardiac catheterization is preferable.
  • Experience with animal studies is preferable.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Hands-on experiences with clinical and preclinical medical or biomedical research.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Computer and technical skills.
  • Results-oriented and innovative approach to research
