Research Technician - Centre of Translational Medicine
Center for Translational Medicine of The International Clinical Research Center (ICRC) of St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno, Czech Republic is now seeking for a highly motivated and skilled research/lab technician to join our international team.
The International Clinical Research Center (ICRC) is a new research Centre of St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno and links together pre-clinical basic research (e.g. in stem cell biology, tissue regeneration, cancer biology, etc.) with clinical research (for more info see http://www.fnusa-icrc.org/en/).
Starting Date: Immediate (negotiable)
FTE: 1 FTE (full-time assignment)
We are looking for responsible, careful, well-organized and highly motivated Technician to assist the researchers in the general laboratory and to operate the following equipment:
- Laser Confocal Microscope equipped for live imaging (ZEISS LSM 780, LSM 7 LIVE)
- ZEISS AXIO Observer.Z1 microscopeequipped with PALM laser microdissectioner
- ZEISS LSM 7 MP (multiphoton microscope)
- Benchtop Jeol Scanning Electron Microscope
The applicant should be able to work exactly, independently and flexibly. He/she possesses excellent interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills as well as organizational capabilities.
The Laboratory Technician will have a high degree of autonomy, strong support from the PI, broad resource availability and unique opportunity to help shape the lab. The position is available for 1 year (with possible extension will be discussed in due time).
- Previous experience with the abovementioned equipment or similar
- Experience in plasmid expansion or cloning and computer based data handling and analysis
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to record results, organize data
- Will to learn new techniques
