Profile

Integrated Center of Cellular Therapy and Regenerative Medicine (ICCTRM) is engaged in the research and use of stem cells in the treatment of serious diseases and the regeneration of damaged organs and tissues. Using the latest knowledge of inter-disciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge technological facilities, the ICCTRM prepares technology based on the isolation, cultivation and differentiation of stem cells using basic research, experimental animal models and applications in patient clinical trials. In the future, stem cells may be used in the treatment of serious cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological and oncological diseases.

Main research areas

  • cellular and regenerative therapies of cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological and oncological diseases,
  • use of somatic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells to differentiate them into mature cardiac muscle cell, smooth muscle, vascular endothelial cells , neurons and immune system cells in vitro,
  • analysis of stem cells and their integration in the use of genomics, proteomics and cytomics,
  • development of modern medical technologies and procedures in regenerative medicine,
  • methods of isolation, cultivation and differentiation of human stem cells of various types using gene manipulation and nanotechnology,
  • using bio-imaging techniques and nano-imaging tracking of transplanted cells in vivo,
  • recovery of the affected heart muscle affected by infarction and the regeneration of the central nervous system affected by infarction, trauma or degenerative neurological diseases,
  • development of methods, technologies and products for cell therapy in clinical applications.
