Dr. Aleš Hejčl from the Stroke Research Team appointed as Associate Professor
Dr. Aleš Hejčl, who works as a senior researcher at the Stroke Research Team of FNUSA-ICRC, successfully defended his habilitation thesis “Hemodynamics modeling and its potential contribution to surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms” at the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and was the Rector of the University Prof. Tomáš Zima. appointed as associate professor of neurosurgery on 1 December 2019.
MUDr. Aleš Hejčl Ph.D. is one of the first generation of researchers in the newly established The International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno (2011), where he participated in the formation of neuroscience programs. He is currently the principal investigator and co-investigator of two scientific projects supported by the Czech Health Research Council, thanks to which he managed to build an interdisciplinary team in the Czech Republic focusing on hemodynamics of cerebral aneurysms.
Doc. Hejčl works as a neurosurgeon at Masaryk University in Ústí n. Labem. He has been systematically involved in the problematics of spinal cord injury and central nervous system injury. He combines his clinical work as a neurosurgeon with research at FNUSA-ICRC and at the Institute of Experimental Medicine CAS.
