The EuroEcho 2019 Congress, the most important meeting of experts specializing in non-invasive cardiological imaging methods, was held at the Vienna Exhibition Center from December 4 to 7. It was the twenty-third year of the event, organized by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). This year's main topic was: Cardiomyopathy and imaging in acute cardiac care.

Thanks to the team of doc. MUDr. Roman Panovský Ph.D. the International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital Brno (FNUSA-ICRC) was also seen at the congress. Their abstract, entitled “T1 Mapping in Asymptomatic Patients with Extracardiac Sarcoidosis”, has succeeded in competition of more than one and a half thousand posters and was awarded in its section as one of the best abstracts.

“Our work deals with the examination of asymptomatic patients with extracardial sarcoidosis, an autoimmune inflammatory disease of unclear origin, which in some cases also affects the heart. The aim of this work was to evaluate the functionality of the T1 mapping magnetoresonance technique in the early detection of heart disease in patients suffering from this disease, ”explained Roman Panovský.

Congratulations!
